Last weekend in Voronezh, the first stage of the Russian Championship in the sports discipline D2N was held. This competition was the debut for a young race car driver from Tver, Tamir Kaplun, who plays for the RUMOS RACING team.
“Last year passed for Tamir without racing – children's competitions were canceled due to the epidemiological situation. Therefore, this season, the 15-year-old pilot went directly to the “adult” races – to the D2N class, replacing the Oka with Lada Kalina, ”Tamir's team said.
The debut in adult races for Kaplun turned out to be super-successful, in Voronezh he reached the semi-finals and took 9th place at the end of the stage. On the 11th position was another Tver racer – experienced Alexander Kolesnichenko.
Tamir started racing at the age of five. Today he is the winner of the RAF Championship, the silver medalist of the Moscow Region Championship, the silver medalist of the Tver City Championship.
