Since the beginning of the 90s, he has been passionate about the aesthetics of the Rodguard, New simplicity and minimalism. A noticeable event was the premiere of the play “Spring in January” in the Great Hall of the Conservatory for Yuri Bashmet, Alexei Lyubimov and the New Russia Orchestra (2005). Play Get in !! The festival Moscow Autumn – 2006 was closed.

C1997, Pavel Karmanov’s music constantly sounds in many commercials on TV, in the design of television and radio programs.

In the past few years, the profession of a modern composer began to regain the former prestige in domestic culture. Of course, we can’t catch up with Soviet times when the leading composers were idols of the general public, while others lived comfortably using the benefits of public procurement. But the names of the creators of modern academic music today Again, by hearing: the cultural person is already supposed to know not only Leonid Tetratnikov and Vladimir Martynov, but also Dmitry Kurlandsky, Sergey Nevsky, Alexander Manotskov and Alexei Syumak, and after all, a whole generation of promising composers reaches for them.

Few of them, however, boast of the fact that they collect the full halls of the public. But at the entrance to the Zaryadye Hall on the Christmas Tolepe Pavel Karmanov, they asked extra tickets. And after all, the concert was not in the small hall, but in the large one, where 1,600 people were placed on four edges of the stage.

Composer Pavel Karmanov Talent and Professional, but that would be few. He can perfectly interact with several musical territories that are by no means included in the sphere of ownership of the modern composer – but he knows how to bring bridges with them.

One of these territories is rock music. Non -profit, even intelligent – this includes the work of the group “Flightless Refusal”. Pavel Karmanov is a participant in this group, a keyboard player. It is as easy for him to write music for the group as for the academic composition, although with equal success this can do the leader of the group, guitarist Roman Suslov.

The other is Russian folk music. In Moscow and in the world there is a true king Berendey in this direction – Sergey Starostin. A vocalist, a duddy, a gussel who knows how to dance and bang into a tambourine at the right moment, he is not only a folklorist scientist with expeditions for songs and tunes, but also a grated participant in the World Music World Scene, that is, an artist who is in a completely modern artistic artistic artistic art context.

The third territory is ancient church music. It would seem that liturgical singing in its ancient departments is the sphere of pure science, musical paleography. However, the ensemble of ancient Russian spiritual music “Sirin” under the direction of Andrei Kotov has not been convinced of us for several decades that the warehouses of these chants are perfectly joined with many modern composer systems. It is only necessary to find a suitable plot, and archeology with the vanguard will immediately pray a joint prayer – which is an example to serve as an unforgettable performance by Anatoly Vasiliev “Crying Jeremiah” (1996), where the Sirin ensemble created a stage ritual, performing the music of Vladimir Martynov. ”
