Multinsky lakes are a completely unique natural landmark in the protected area of the Altai Republic. This is a whole cascade of natural reservoirs, consisting of 42 large and small lakes. They got their name from the Multa River, which flows through 3 lakes and flows into the Katun River.

Each lake is located at different heights, has different colors, shapes, sizes and is distinguished by its unique ecosystem and atmosphere.

Autumn on the Multinskie Lakes is considered one of the most picturesque seasons of the year – the combination of bright yellow larch needles with the blue expanse of lakes and the backdrop of the tops of snow-capped mountains is a truly breathtaking sight.

And a pleasant bonus of the trip will be the generosity of the Multinsky forest for delicious berries – lingonberries, blueberries, even honeysuckle and the main souvenir from the mighty cedars – real pine cones with healthy nuts!

In September 2021, they received a very interesting experience of campaigns and tracking along the route Biryuza of the Maltese lakes from Altai Tracking. The route is very interesting and beautiful, on the days the schedule is thoughtfully competently and interesting. Altai surprised to be honest, they did not expect in the vastness of his own country to get such impressions of what he saw. In addition to natural beauties, many impressions received from communicating with interesting people. An interesting format of tours when people of all ranks communicate within 5-6 days in close contact without prejudices and complexes on one wave, without the Internet, without cellular communication and outside the usual comfort zone. In terms of difficulty, the route was at the level of our capabilities, but there were those who surrendered from the group after the first track. The route is more suitable for those who like to walk along the tracks and can overcome the crossed terrain per day on foot 20-26 km without strong changes in heights. Surprised food was pleasant! They did everything on the menu and diversely, did not expect – they were preparing morally for macorones and cereals. Everything was tasty, interesting and diverse taking into account the wishes of all participants. No one remained hungry. Special thanks to the guide to Alexei and the whole members of the group for responsiveness, mutual assistance, pleasant communication and for a great time. The next year I plan to use the Altai Tracking services again, but already on a more complex route with tents on Belukha.

What is autumn.

This was my first autumn in Mountain Altai, the long -awaited and, as it turned out, was romantic, comfortable and soothing! A trip to Multinsky lakes in the fall is: 1. The opportunity to see the same – turquoise span; 2. The ability to enjoy the altai without accumulation of tourists; 3. The ability to dissolve in autumn without urban slush and grayness. Autumn Altai is a whole palette of colors, generously written by the hand of the artist of nature. Now, recalling this journey, which happened almost a year ago, I still hear the whisper of the lower Multinsky Lake and feel the coniferous aroma of his paths. The most funny trip was a trip to the GAZ-66. There was plenty of everything: jokes, and songs, and beautiful views from the window, and incredible bumps, which I personally have never met anywhere else. The most unexpected on the trip was the passage of Brod across the Mult River, which flows from the lower lake. Until the last moment, we were sure that we would be transported by boat, but, as happened in these wild places, the vacation of the boatman had already begun. And it was not in vain! Knee -deep in cold water, with endless confidence that you need to the other shore, I crossed. None of the group after the transition is ill, truly mountain water can only clean. Will I go to the ford again through the mountain river? Yes, yes, yes, and again yes! The main thing is to have dry interchangeable socks. The most comfortable on the trip was evenings by the stove, in the houses where we lived. What could be better than sitting at a peaceful fire with a cup of herbal tea and a jar of honey, listening to the timid voice of the forest, which hides you from the daytime. The most stunning were stars, myriads of stars above you and in the reflection of water, as soon as he went beyond the threshold of his warm house. Of the minuses, I can note only one – the houses on the lower lake are designed for the communal resettlement (10 people in one), and this is a trifle, in comparison with the possibilities that this journey opens 🙏

We were on this route in 2019. Only the days were smaller, did not go to the transverse lake. Autumn, of course, magical time. Bright yellow larch, snowy peaks, delicious berries, cedar nuts, a minimum of tourists! We were lucky with the weather, it was sunny, although we traveled at the very end of September. Only when we went to Kuiguk, we were already returning along the rain, but this did not spoil the impression at all. The abandonment to GAZ 66 as a separate part of the trip is funny, unites all the guys in the group at once! I advise everyone this direction in the fall – even if in the summer there were here. Get a colossal charge of energy from such a protected and picturesque rest! Thank you for the guys for the organization, we’ll go with you again!
