Mushroom boom in the Murmansk region

August 23, 2023

At the end of August, the northerners massively raided the polar forests. And all due to the fact that berries ripened and mushrooms appeared in the Murmansk region.

So, Alexander Tolkachev, who visited the Serebryanka, shared his impressions of the “silent hunt”.

The man went looking for mushrooms and returned a week later, when a group of volunteers had already gathered to look for him. Photo: PSO Angel.

The search operation for the morning of August 22 was announced by the search and rescue squad Angel in the agricultural town of Kolodishchi, Minsk region. A week ago, a 58-year-old man went missing there. Volunteers gathered the night before to go out in the morning in search of the missing person. But in the morning, his daughter said that the man himself returned home at night, around 2.40. Details tells Mlyn.

On August 15, Sergei Grushevsky from Kolodishchi went to the forest 200 meters from the house to pick mushrooms in order to hand them over to the procurement point. He left when his wife was not at home. It was only known that the man did not take any of his personal belongings with him and left in slippers.

  • In the morning they were going to leave for Kolodishchi from three points in Minsk with all the equipment to search for a person in the forest, but Sergei Grushevsky's daughter wrote to me on the Internet that he was already at home. Her father returned on his own at 02:40. Where he disappeared for a whole week, we were not told about it. Our detachment stopped searching for the man,” Angel Kristina Kruk, PSO coordinator, told the publication.

For mushrooms

August 23, 2021

deceptive appearance

The opinion that there are no poisonous mushrooms in Taimyr has long been refuted by local mushroom pickers, who found handsome fly agarics in the vicinity of Norilsk. In a particularly generous mushroom season, we have both bright red fly agarics and paler specimens. Sometimes they look like russula. Therefore, be careful: the fly agaric has a skirt on its leg, and the leg itself resembles a mace.

These mushrooms contain strong toxic substances. Rainwater that collects in the concave cap of an old mushroom is detrimental to insects. For humans, fly agaric is not so dangerous. At least, there are only a few deaths. A person who has tasted fly agaric may become highly aroused or even experience hallucinations. Among the peoples of the Far North, fly agaric has long been known as a ritual mushroom.

mushroom king

In the northern forests, you can collect most of the known edible mushrooms: boletus, boletus, boletus, milk mushrooms, russula, chanterelles … As for white, this is a moot point. There were single finds of white fungus in Taimyr, but experts attributed them to a different species. Although the author of the popular science book Forest Happiness Pyotr Sigunov claimed that he had met porcini mushrooms. Being a geologist, during the expeditions he entered all his observations in a diary. Once, after a trip to Taimyr, Sigunov wrote: “In the tundra, on the shores of the Arctic Ocean, mushrooms are never wormy. Wherever stunted bushes of dwarf birch begin to creep along the ground, and even clumsy larches appear – come to the tundra for red polar mushrooms. They look like boletus. Only much thicker, fleshier and their hat is colored much brighter than that of the southern ones. You can dial in the tundra as much as you like and small gray brushes, and large ones, they are only called supervisors, because they grow above the northern birches. In places closer to the forest there are large deposits of white mushrooms. But, unfortunately, no one except deer collects them. ”

Many can argue that they have never come across white mushrooms in the south of Taimyr. But this does not mean that they are not here. The mushroom world in this territory is not sufficiently studied. If there are birches, there may be white. Perhaps someone is once lucky in search of a mushroom miracle.

They call the white king of mushrooms not for beauty … The coloring is modest, there is no kind. Unless for the taste, for quality became the king of mushrooms this little masterpiece of nature, ”wrote Russian writer Vladimir Alekseevich Soloukhin. In ancient Russia, only white mushrooms were considered mushrooms. And they called them so because, unlike the rest, they do not darken either when cooking or drying. In addition, they are distinguished by excellent taste. And they are especially popular in dried form. This is how the same Soloukhin writes about it: “Fresh white mushroom does not smell like anything. Unless he gives a little coolness and freshness. It is all the more amazing that, being dried, the white mushroom suddenly acquires a strongest, the most mushroom aroma … ”

If he was called a load

And how delicious the salty loads are! It was in this form that they were valued in Russian cuisine. These mushrooms are usually found in birch forests. They belong to the Molechers – close relatives of the rawers. If you break them, release milky juice of white or orange color. Other species of milfs are growing in Russian forests: saffron, waves, chernushki, bitter ones. All of them are edible, but their milky juice is very caustic. Therefore, they are usually soaked for several days in water and only then salted.

Oils of the head

But these mushrooms do not need to soak. They are good in any form. The mushroom pickers affectionately call them: Oils of the heads, silk beards. These are oils, slippery and sticky, they grow in coniferous forests. They are especially loved in pickled form.

Taimyr gems

In Taimyr, multi -colored rawers grow in abundance, Peter Sigunov in his diary calls them gems: “Eyes are scattered from the brightness and variegated their wet hats. Either red as rubies, then green, like emeralds, then purple as amethysts. It seemed that all the gems of the world scattered along the birch grove and the silty swamps … . These mushrooms are found even on northern land. It is believed that rawers can be eaten raw, but it is better not to do this: some of them are completely inedible. For example, a raw -hat with a red hat, bitter, like wormwood, and acute, like mustard. But most of these mushrooms are edible. And the diet has a sweet nutty taste even in raw form. Views with yellow, green and blue hats are best suited for culinary purposes. One thing is bad: the raws have a very brittle pulp. Therefore, collect and put them in the basket must be carefully, hats down.

Friendly family

In early autumn, in the forest at the foot of trees, “friendly families” of small yellowish -brown mushrooms appear on stumps and lobby. These are honey mushrooms, whose hats are covered with brown scales, and thin legs are bordered by rings. Do you know that the tower is a dangerous parasite. True, it mainly settles on dead trees and stumps. However, it grows on living trees, especially on old and weakened. The mushroom mushrooms of the Open destroys wood, highlighting toxic substances. The honey agaric destroys young birch in a year to two, larch – over five, an old tree – over 10 years. Of course, the tree just doesn’t give up. It distinguishes the resin that prevents the growth of the mycelium. But the mushroom wins the most bowl in such a struggle.

Useful parasites

Parasite mushrooms also include tints, which are pleasant in our forests. Only you can find them high on the trees. They resemble woody hooves. Are the orderlies of the forest, affecting sick trees and helping the forest to decompose and mineralize organic substances. There are several types of tumber -workers in Taimyr: real, birch, false, bordered, three -colored, cinnabar and chaga – the most valuable look for humans and very rare in our forests. This is a black -brown mushroom growing on birches and resembling a charred fractured growth. It is widely used in folk medicine.

To health!

Mushrooms in Russia have always been considered tasty and healthy food. They are rich in nutrients and vitamins: contain up to 50% proteins, fats, carbohydrates and mineral salts, and in the content of potassium, phosphorus and sulfur, mushrooms surpass vegetables and compete with fruits. In addition, they have healing properties: they excite appetite, contribute to digestion, metabolism, and strengthen the nervous system. Some relieve drowsiness, fatigue, others improve blood pressure. In the russula, for example, an antibiotic was found that kills pathogens in the human body. Little shallow oil contains a special resinous substance that relieves acute headaches. Water and alcohol tincture of fly agaric treats rheumatism. White fungus contains antitumor substances, and in the old days it was used to treat skin diseases. The larch sponge in Russia was considered a valuable cure for all diseases. And the raincoat will help disinfect the wound. Champignons, autumn mushrooms, and some temi -polls have the same properties.

Away from the city

The mushroom kingdom of Taimyr is diverse, but there is no reliable scientific data about his species diversity, since this topic is little studied in the territory. Reserves specialists do not recommend collecting mushrooms near the city, as they have a feature of accumulating heavy metals. Therefore, get away from roads and civilizations for quiet hunting.By the way, back in the old days, people noticed: if there is plenty of mushrooms, then there will be a lot of snow in winter.

And the best time to pick mushrooms is when the forest is enveloped in fog, especially after rain. So do not miss the mushroom season – just the right time! And baskets full of you!
