The State Autonomous Institution of the Kaliningrad Region Sports School of the Olympic Reserve for Team Sports (GAU KO SCOR for Team Sports) was established as the State Budgetary Educational Institution of Additional Education for Children of the Kaliningrad Region Complex Children's and Youth Sports School for Team Sports was created in accordance with the Decree of the Government of the Kaliningrad Region dated November 11, 2011 No. 860, January 24, 2012.

The institution was transformed into an autonomous institution in accordance with the Decree of the Government of the Kaliningrad Region dated May 26, 2014 No. 309 “On the establishment of a state autonomous educational institution of additional education for children in the Kaliningrad Region “Complex Children's and Youth Sports School for Team Sports”. In 2014, a new Charter of the Institution was adopted, changes were made to the license in connection with the addition of addresses for conducting educational activities and a change in the name of the Institution.

For high performance in the preparation of the sports reserve, by order of the Sports Agency of the Kaliningrad Region dated April 25, 2017, the school was renamed into the state autonomous institution of the Kaliningrad Region Sports School of the Olympic Reserve for Team Sports.

The objectives of the activities of the Institution are the implementation of the powers of the state authorities of the Kaliningrad region in the field of physical culture and sports provided for by the legislation of the Russian Federation, the development and popularization of the sports volleyball, basketball, rugby (hereinafter referred to as team sports) in the territory of the Kaliningrad region, preparation of a sports reserve in team sports for sports teams of the Kaliningrad region and the Russian Federation.

The subject of the Institution's activity is the implementation of sports training programs in team sports at the following stages:
– stage of initial training;
– training stage (stage of sports specialization);
– stage of improvement of sportsmanship;
– the stage of higher sportsmanship.

In order to ensure a more efficient organization of its activities, the sports school carries out the following activities, since this serves to achieve the goals for which it was created:

1) sports training in Olympic sports (volleyball, basketball, rugby);
2) ensuring the targeted training of the sports reserve for the sports included in the All-Russian Register of Sports;
3) organization and conduct of training events (including training camps) on the basis of sports training programs developed in accordance with the requirements of federal standards for sports training;
4) organization and conduct of official sports and physical education
5) ensuring the participation of athletes in official sporting events;
6) the development and implementation of sports training programs (developed and approved in the Central Service of the SPS 3 programs for sports training in sports: volleyball, basketball, rugby);
7) the preparation of individual sports training plans for athletes at the stage of improving sportsmanship. The training process in the institution is carried out by 14 trainers, of which 13 have a higher professional education. The category of coaching staff is also very high: three have the highest qualification category, 2 coaches-I-Yu, 3 trapery-II qualification categories. Coaches also have judicial categories, which gives them the right to judge competitions of various ranks: 2 people – “Sports judge of the All -Russian category”, 4 – “Judge in the sport of the first category”, 2- “Judge in the sports of the second category”. The main goal of the institution is the formation and development of the abilities of children and adults in the field of physical culture and sports, the satisfaction of their individual needs in intellectual, moral and physical improvement, the formation of a culture of a healthy and safe lifestyle, strengthening health, and the organization of their free time. Every year the popularity of the population is growing every year. The school has successfully interacts with the Ministry of Sports of the Kaliningrad Region, the All -Russian and Republican Federations in sports, with educational institutions of the city and the region. In addition to the main base of the sports school, the Yantarny DS and the Selma Stadium, training and sports work are also carried out at the bases of educational institutions. In 2018, the “Agreement on Cooperation in the field of sports training” GAU KO “SSHOR by game sports” was concluded from the MBU to the Children's School of Baltiysk, the Association of Lovers of the REGBI RME “Red City”, GBPOU KO “School of the Olympic Reserve”, ANO “VK“ Lokomotiv-Kaliningrad region ”, conducting joint work on the preparation of the sports reserve of Russia. The traditional for the school is the organization and holding of city, regional volleyball competitions, basketball, rugby and large-scale sports events. An increase in the number of measures and participants, improving the quality of their organization and conduct, is observed annually.
