State Duma deputy Teryushkov proposed a new method for the formation of the register of sports facilities in Russia

RIAMO – 26 Jan. State Duma deputy Roman Teryushkov proposed changing the approach to the formation of the All-Russian Register of Sports Facilities. It is necessary to evaluate sports facilities in a comprehensive manner according to several parameters, this will make it possible to understand their number and condition.

“Now the register includes only those facilities that host official sports competitions and sports events at the federal and regional levels. At the same time, we do not understand how many objects there are in our country, what kind of objects they are, in what condition they are,” Teryushkov wrote in his Telegram channel.

He noted that according to the order of the President of the Russian Federation, by 2030, 70% of the country's population should go in for sports, but it is difficult to achieve such an indicator if you do not know the real number of sports facilities available to people. In this case, the calculation of forces and means is impossible to produce.

“The practice of working in the Moscow Region, where, on my initiative, the law on the regional register was adopted, made it possible to understand the necessary things about sports facilities: the number of indoor and flat facilities, the ratio of one to the other and to the population, the age of the facilities, the degree of their wear and tear. He urged to introduce this practice at the federal level as well,” Teryushkov added.

In July 2019, the Moscow Region adopted a law on the formation and maintenance of a register of sports facilities in the region.

The register included such indicators as the address of the location of the sports facility in the municipality, size characteristics, information on reconstruction or major repairs, funds for the maintenance and social significance of the facility.
